30 Second Rule???

Good morning and happy Tuesday(3/25/25). Ever heard of the 30 second rule in recruiting? If you are a recruiter and you haven’t been using it, you might want to consider it.

I always get excited whenever something good happens like: getting a new client signed, speaking with a great candidate you expect to submit, the candidate accepting the position, the candidate actually showing up the first day and follow ups for at least a year. Don’t you? These highs are an amazing feeling, then you realize that you have to depend on someone you may have never met or even seen on a video call. This new connection that you may have known for only a few months is your reputation in the works.

People will fail and make mistakes. Things will not always work out. You have to be prepared for that. Easiest way, is the abide by the 30 second rule. Get excited for 30 seconds and then move on. You cannot worry or be too excited about something you cannot control.

Side bar. I did a quick study. Tariffs should cause an extra $1500-$1700 in immediate cost to the average consumer annually. The amount of revenue generated from tariffs will decrease your federal taxes by $1500-$3000 annually. Seems like a wash to me. Why worry about it? I cannot control it.
